A few weeks ago, while visiting San Francisco, I had the chance to buy some delicious culinary lavender and rose buds from a local tea store. I absolutely love using anything with lavender in it, so I’ve been making tea with it on a daily basis after returning home. The tea is delicious, but so far, one of my favorite usages of the lavender actually is making lavender lemonade. It’s a healthy, refreshing and relaxing alternative to regular lemonade or sodas, and a perfect drink now that spring is coming.
My boyfriend and I are both into using essential oils in our everyday life. We have so many of them and love combining them in our oil diffuser to create different scents. I love the way my apartment smells after using them, so when I found out you can make perfume with essential oils, I knew I just had to try it. It’s cheaper than perfume you buy in the stores, it’s fun to make and doesn’t contain harmful chemicals.
People who have been following my blog for a while probably have noticed already, but I’m a big lover of herbal tea. Herbal tea isn’t just caffeine free, but different herbs also have a different effect on our body and mind. For example, chamomile is known to reduce stress and anxiety levels, and it also treats insomnia. It tastes great by itself, but because it’s fall season, I decided to share a calming tea recipe that combines chamomile with rooibos and cinnamon.
