A few weeks ago, while visiting San Francisco, I had the chance to buy some delicious culinary lavender and rose buds from a local tea store. I absolutely love using anything with lavender in it, so I’ve been making tea with it on a daily basis after returning home. The tea is delicious, but so far, one of my favorite usages of the lavender actually is making lavender lemonade. It’s a healthy, refreshing and relaxing alternative to regular lemonade or sodas, and a perfect drink now that spring is coming.
A while ago I received a small sample of Kusmi BB Detox Tea while out shopping. I usually try to avoid teas with caffeine, and I never got the detox hype either. But I’m in love with Kusmi’s products, so I decided to give it a try anyway. BB Detox contains green tea, mate, rooibos, guarana, dandelion, and grapefruit.
People who have been following my blog for a while probably have noticed already, but I’m a big lover of herbal tea. Herbal tea isn’t just caffeine free, but different herbs also have a different effect on our body and mind. For example, chamomile is known to reduce stress and anxiety levels, and it also treats insomnia. It tastes great by itself, but because it’s fall season, I decided to share a calming tea recipe that combines chamomile with rooibos and cinnamon. The perfect tea blend to help you relax while you’re wrapped in blankets during the cold fall weather.
More than half a year ago I gave up coffee. It was messing with my sleep, my emotions, and the high amounts of caffeine I consumed daily were even making me physically sick. The first two weeks were the hardest, and I was having extreme withdrawal symptoms. But things got better afterward. I’m falling asleep easier than before, and overall I feel happier and more relaxed. I even feel more energized.
I mentioned my caffeine free lifestyle in another blog post before and got a lot of comments from people who said they would never be able to give up coffee. Since I have way more energy now compared to when I still drank coffee, I decided to write down the 7 things that make me feel energized without coffee.
I’m a big fan of tea, especially herbal tea. A few weeks ago the local Kusmi store was giving discounts, so I decided to head over and buy a new taste. They always have so much choice, but luckily you can try all their different teas before buying something. I decided to go for Linden-Rose from Løv Organic, a caffeine free tea containing Linden, lavender, apple and rose.
